A Little About Us...

Amy, the founder of out of the bleu, with her two girls.

Welcome to Out of the Bleu where our mission is to help you enhance your self-care so that you can live a life filled with joy, cut through the chaos to find your inner calm, and deepen your connection with your friends and family, so you can avoid feeling exhausted, stressed, and burnt out.

What We Do

No matter who we are in life, we all face hard things, whether it’s loss, thoughts of suicide, divorce, abuse, abandonment, or whatever it may be. However, we don’t have to wade through these events as mere survivors. We can get through these events as thrivers, and that’s where we come in.

Our mission is to provide simple methods that can allow you to become the best version of yourself so that you can live a joyful, calm, and fulfilling life.

We believe in the power of self-love and self-care, and we believe the world needs more of it. This company was inspired to help ignite a flame to spread a message that everyone matters, especially you. Our goal is to inspire you and cheer you on through all the ups and downs of life, no matter what your story may be.

All of our products our hand-selected to make it easy for you to have a better day, be inspired, and receive little reminders that you matter.

How We Got Started

Hi everyone, my name is Amy, and I’m one of the co-creators over here at Out of the Bleu. A lot of people have asked why my daughter Lexi and I decided to start this movement, and let me tell you why.

Just like you, I have a story. Back in 2016, I lost my husband to suicide. In one minute I became a single mom to two girls, and our world was shattered. I was now alone with two teenage daughters to care for. Lexi was a couple of weeks away from graduation, and my youngest was a couple of weeks away from her sweet 16th birthday.

Both of them were looking up to me, and I didn’t know what to do. The pressure of these thoughts were suffocating.

So the journey to healing began slowly, with each step.

I faced some dark days, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep going, but I was able to keep going because I practiced simple self-care. I found myself going to the gym, I practiced gratitude, I turned to God, and I stayed connected with my family, friends, and even complete strangers because they would reach out to me through random acts of kindness that seemed to come from out of the bleu!

And that is how “Out of the Bleu” was born. The small, simple steps I took to show up for myself helped me rise from out of the bleus and I was able to heal.

Every step I took toward healing was a little reminder that I too mattered, and those steps meant a great deal to me. I went from just trying to survive from day to day, wrestling with depression and overwhelm, to living a life full of joy and meaning.

On the days I didn’t practice self-care, the hard days got harder. On the days I did choose to practice self-care, I thrived.

I was able to:

  • Heal my soul
  • Live life to the fullest
  • Move forward in faith and certainty
  • And savor every single moment with my friends and family

And this wasn’t just true for me. It was true for my girls, too. In fact, each of us had to practice self-care in order to help one another.

We’re not perfect, but we keep showing up for ourselves because that’s what helps us to live our dream of being the best version of ourselves, so that we can serve the people we care about most–our friends, our families, and you.

And that’s why Lexi and I are so passionate about “Out of the Bleu” because both of us want you to experience being the best version of yourself so that you can give back to the people you care about most too.

I encourage you to think of your own self-care journey and figure out a place you can start to rise up from out of the bleu and begin living the life of your dreams, just like my girls and I are doing (And if you don’t know where to start, or you need some ideas, you’re in the right place).

Me, Lexi, and the entire OotBleu family are so excited that you are here with us to spread this movement of self-love and self-care. Imagine if we all just did one thing to show up for ourselves each day, what would our lives begin to look like?
